Tutorial Tuesday: Stemware Charms + Best Giveaway Yet!

With the holidays just around the corner I thought I would share another small tip for entertaining. These are {for the most part} pretty easy. You can make your celebration stylish with these playful- and practical- stemware charms. They are easy to make and adds a nice personal touch to any gathering. You can go with any color scheme to match your theme...I love that.

Here are the materials you'll need:

6 strips of white card stock paper, 20'' x 1/4 ''

6 strips of assorted card stock paper, 15'' x 1/4''

Push pin {Tack}

Ruler

Craft knife

Cutting mat {cutting board from the kitchen}

6 wire hoops, 1'' diameter

60 small silver crimping beads

Pliers

Directions-

1. Crease and fold a strip of white card stock at 1'' intervals in an accordion fashion.

2. Similarly, crease and fold a strip of the assorted card stock at 3/4'' intervals in an accordion fashion. In this example I green card stock.

3. Keeping the strips creased, slide the folded tips of the green strip into those of the white one. The inner folded ends of both strips should meet each other and be flush. This will be the side attached to the wire hoop.

4. With a push pin, poke a hole through one end of the white and green strips. The hole should be centered along the short end of the strips and 1/4''from the end.

5. Slide the strips onto the wire hoop. Slide on a crimp bead. Poke a second hole, centered along the width of the strip and 1/8'' from the fold, on the following fold of both strips. Slide the fold onto the wire hoop and add another bead.

6. Poke holes through the remaining folds and the opposite ends of the strips in same way as in steps 4-5, adding a bead in between each new fold. There is no need for a bead after the ends of the strips are added to the wire hoop.

7. With a pair of pliers, twist the end of the straight end of the hoop into a hook (if yours doesn't have one). This hook will help secure the charm in place on your stemware.

8. Repeat steps 1-7 to make the remaining 5 charms.

I was only able to make one before posting todays tutorial but will be making the rest alternating red and green for Christmas!
