Our Family of Pumpkins.

We want to start a tradition with our kids. Painting our pumpkins instead of carving them. Who knows if it will stick throughout the years but for now, it what we'll do. Honestly, I can barely cut the veggies without almost slicing one of my fingers off so I'm good with painting.

This year I painted the big ones. We have a little one for her to paint too. She's going to love it. And Landon will love to participate next year.

So with no further ado...here is our pumpkin family.

Madelyn loves to go down the row and name them as she goes. Her favorite is Landon. Clearly, its because of the paci though.

They weren't too difficult to do. All you have to do it doodle some faces on paper and copy them over. I drew on the pumpkins lightly with crayon first, just outlined with black. Then painted over them. That way I could wash it off if I made a mistake. Then at the end just add fun little extras like a bowtie out of scrap fabric, earrings, hats, hair, pacifiers. Those options are endless. Just go with what each member of the family likes at the time.

Just have fun with it! The goofier the better, I think!

hello fall.

I love fall because it is the beginning of a handful of super fun holidays. My favorite. All of them.

Last week we ventured out to the park in the back of our neighborhood in search of pine cones for a fall craft we planned to do. We waited for it to feel a little bit like fall outside. But here in Florida, it doesn't feel like fall here until January. Just kidding. So it was basically a cloudy- going to rain in the afternoon- kind of morning. But it is fall all the same...

Out of no where we were surrounded by these little guys. They were cute but not very welcoming. They aren't scared of you and don't like it when you take their pine cones. Needless to say, we didn't stay long.

Shame on me for putting her in sandals to go to a pine needle infested park. Note self for next time.

The original pine cone craft went horrible so we ended up painting with our cones. It was a hit.

Hope all you mama's had a super special Sunday.

I sure did! I was surrounded by those I love and my sweet littles. Madelyn had the tail end of a yucky virus so I didn't have high hopes for the day. But, she said happy mother's day by taking a solid nap in the morning which allowed me to put my make up on at home instead of at a red light. It was a great day.

We went out to lunch, played by the pool and celebrated my birthday with family, too. Two celebrations in one day? I'll take it!

I gave a few handmade mother's day gifts out this year. Thought I would share one with you, here. I followed an easy tutorial but tweaked mine a bit, that's the beauty of making your own gifts. Here's the set I made. The steps are very easy to follow and I was very happy with the outcome. My mama was too!

Hello! My goodness, I don't know about you but weeks have been flying by lately and I can barely keep up. Halloween came and went in a blink, Thanksgiving is days away and Christmas will be here before we know it. Time has got to slow down a bit. I was always told- time is going to go by faster and faster as you get older. Man, they weren't kidding!

Ok so this weeks tutorial is a little different than the others. The others have been more "crafty" but this one involves baking. But not for you, for your pup! This week I've decided to share a recipe i've been using for a little while now. Pup treats! I know some of your may not have pets but that's ok. But some of you do and your pup's will love this recipe for sure! I found it on the internet a while back and have changed it up many different ways and this way is what I found to be the best. : ) They are much, MUCH cheaper to make than to buty in the store and much healthy for your pup. Tutorial Tuesday: Give Thanks Jar

Holy toledo it has been a long...long couple weeks with this move. I've decided I don't like moving! It was fun for the first few days but now I am officially over it. I'm done! We are almost finished painting and have all our furniture in the house. All that is left now is to clean, unload boxes, organize, decorate, and get the yard fixed up. Sigh. That list just gave me anxiety. Ever had 500 things to do and no idea where to begin?...yeah, that's this girl right now. I'm running out of petrol oh and did I mention I don't like moving?

Ok, enough of that...I do see a light at the end of this long, very long tunnel. The end is near. Thank you Jesus! It will all pay off in the end and I am really looking forward to it. I apologize for all that... I feel better now. Really I do.

Tutorial Tuesday: Placemat Pillows

Ok ladies, no sewing or ironing. Promise! Just a little hot glue will do the trick.

I came across a few different placemats while out the other day and thought…those could make a couple cute pillows. I remembered I had a set of four I picked up at Goodwill for $1.50 over a year ago, that I have yet to use…I am unfortunately known for that.  They are not nearly as cute as the others I saw but will do the trick! So I ripped the tag off those suckers and made’em into pillows!
